Type 2 Diabetes Group Education

Managing type2 diabetes can feel overwhelming, but you’re not alone!

Led by Amy Zheng - Credentialed Diabetes Educator and Gauri Donald - Accredited Practicing Dietitian, our group workshops provide practical, evidence-based education in a supportive and welcoming environment.

What You’ll Learn in Our Diabetes Workshops

  • Understanding Type2 diabetes and what’s happening in your body
  • How food impacts blood glucose 
  • Eating well: portion sizes and meal planning 
  • The role of exercise in diabetes management
  • Understanding diabetes medications
  • How to monitor and interpret your blood glucose readings 
  • Diabetes related complications and prevention

Who is suitable for these Diabetes Workshops

  • Newly diagnosed with T2 diabetes
  • Anyone needing a refresher or support with self-management
  • Those considering or currently using diabetes medication or insulin 
  • Family members or carers wanting to learn more


Format: Small group (max. 12 people)

Duration: 4 sessions/1.5 to 2 hours per session

Location: In person 

Frequency: Monthly or as scheduled

Cost:  $40 per session with rebate of $19.30 from Medicare for those with a current GP Chronic Conditions Management Plan
